Free Frank New Philadelphia Online Education Teaching Curriculum
It is the goal of Dr. Walker and the Foundation that portrayal and teaching of Free Frank’s life and the history of New Philadelphia be told with historical accuracy. Prior to Dr. Walker receiving her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and her current academic position as a Professor of History at the University of Texas at Austin and while spending over 20 years at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Dr. Walker taught at the high school level in the Chicago Public School system.
Dr. Walker has prepared an online virtual teaching curriculum for primary and secondary teachers who want to include the heroic and exciting life of Free Frank into their lesson plans. The Foundation will make available to teachers, books, pamphlets, essay topics, testing materials and a video lecture by Dr. Juliet Elise Kirkpatrick Walker. The teachers and students will learn about the life of Free Frank and New Philadelphia Illinois with an interactive and virtual curriculum that will not only be fun but educational.
