Historical Research: Architecture & Geography
Architecture & Geography
Free Frank could neither read or write but understood the legal importance of geography, maps and survey. During the frontier period it was necessary for the settlers to have a thorough knowledge of architecture since it was often the family building their own home. When Free Frank founded New Philadelphia his knowledge of architecture was extensive. It is the mission of the Foundation when rebuilding New Philadelphia to preserve its architectural history.
